SingPost in ASEAN Top 50 and one of two Outstanding Achievement Awardees from Singapore  

SINGAPORE,  16 November 2015 –Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) has received recognition for its corporate governance at the inaugural ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2015. SingPost was recognised as one of the top 50 ASEAN publicly listed companies with outstanding corporate governance as well as one of two Outstanding Achievement awardees in Singapore in terms of most improved scores based on the results of the ASEAN Corporate Governance scorecard.

Mr Lim Ho Kee, Chairman of SingPost, said, “We are very heartened to receive this  accolade as it is  a recognition of how much importance our board puts on governance across SingPost.  We also thank our management and staff who conscientiously applied the principles of governance in their work processes daily. SingPost is on a transformation journey to become a digital company and through this quest, we remain rooted in our core values, pursuing good corporate governance. With a solid foundation, we can go further, faster and yet give our stakeholders as well as customers a peace of mind. That is something very valuable to us.”

The ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) has partnered with the Philippines’ Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to organize the very first ASEAN Corporate Governance Conference and Awards to promote good corporate governance as they believe this is a catalyst for growth and change. The ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards is aimed at commending companies who continuously practice and inspire excellent corporate governance in their operations and services.

“Corporate governance is essential for the long term sustainability of SingPost’s businesses and performance. Through good corporate governance, we also contribute towards enhancing Singapore’s reputation as a trusted global hub for sound business practices, ” he added.

The conference was held at the Asian Development Bank on the morning of 14 November 2015 and the award presentation ceremony took place that same evening at the Manila Polo Club.
