Bureau Veritas is re-known for both organising as well as attracting in its annual pre-Christmas celebration event at the heart of Piraeus hundreds of members of Greece’s successful maritime cluster. This one last December was exceptional given the successes of the society during 2015. Following the AGM in Chios last May at the imperial surroundings of Argentiko, the Beaujolais Trinity House evening in London – where many things were announced, the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Award 2015 for its Piraeus International Centre, the awards given also to members of the Piraeus Management team at the SNAME event at Rhode Island in USA, the mood was more than jubilant!

It could have been 500 or even more the faithful guests who joined-in this year’s pre-Christmas celebration at the society’s premises at Aetolikou Street. Great food as usual with additional recipes, a unique variety offered by the hosts as this is an event of diverse gathering reflecting no doubt to the hosts’ diverse circle of businesses: maritime, offshore, industrial, hospitality, energy, to name but a few. Did I hear you say sweets, tarts – the French are re-known for this, or the traditional Greek Christmas sweet-specialities? Courambiedes, Melomakarona, Almonds, etcetera… Oh well, not only plentiful but tasting…finger-leaking good as always thanks to the caterers and organisational skills of the BV in-house team! Plentiful of Champaign and wines too being the name of the…game; Santé! A la votre!
