Reclamation work at Pulau Tekong
Tuesday, April 5, 2016, Singapore
The working period has been extended for reclamation work underway at Pulau Tekong. The work will now continue until1 October.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.30 of 2016, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

26) 01 deg. 24.589’N / 104 deg. 01.772’EReclamation work involves infilling, dredging, construction of revetment, soil investigation and soil improvement work.  Soil improvement work will entail stabilized dredging, sand piling and deep cement mixing. Dredgers will be used for the bund construction within the working area. Safety boats will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area ;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.

Mooring and unmooring of vessels off Pulau Tekong
Tuesday, April 5, 2016, Singapore
During the period 2 April to 1 October, bulk carriers, self-propelled barges and tug boats with barges in composite unit carrying bulk sand will be transiting Kuala Johor to the Pulau Tekong reclamation project area.Masters of vessels and harbour craft shall keep a proper lookout for these vessels, proceed at a safe speed and navigate with extra caution when in the vicinity of the mooring buoys off Pulau Tekong.As advised in the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.31 of 2016, mooring and unmooring of vessels will be carried out during daylight hours (0700hrs to 1900hrs).

The mooring buoys will be removed upon completion of the reclamation.

Locks lane outage and Transit Reservation System

Beginning at 1800 hours on Saturday, April 9, 2016, until 0600 hours on Sunday, April 10, 2016, the EAST lane of Gatun Locks will be out of service in order to perform schedule dry chamber work in the upper level and other rehabilitation work on Miter Gate 22.As a result, and in accordance with the rules governing the Transit Reservation System, Condition 1.a will be in effect on Sunday, April 10, 2016.Applications for reserved transits while Condition 1.a is in effect will be received beginning at 0900 hours on Thursday, April 7, 2016. The Just-In-Time (JIT) transit slots available for supers, as well as the booking slot available through the auction process, and the slots available for regular vessels less than 300 feet in LOA, will continue to be offered during this period.
