DREDGING & CONSTRUCTION OF SLIPWAY IN SOUTHERN TUAS BASIN

Dredging & construction of slipway in Southern Tuas Basin
Tuesday, May 31, 2016, Singapore
From 1 June to 30 September, dredging and construction work for a slipway will be carried out in Southern Tuas Basin.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.63 of 2016, the work will be conducted within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18.513’N / 103 deg. 39.354’E
2) 01 deg. 18.533’N / 103 deg. 39.334’E
3) 01 deg. 18.580’N / 103 deg. 39.378’E
4) 01 deg. 18.558’N / 103 deg. 39.402’EThe dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers held in position by spuds. Tug boats will be used to shift the dredgers. The dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping grounds by hopper barges.Work barges will be deployed for the construction of a slipway and mooring points.

Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
