Transport of sand material to stockpile area

The working period and working area have been extended for the transportation of sand material to the stockpile area at Tuas View Extension.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.133 of 2016 dated 15 November 2016, the works are will now be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – from 17 November 2016 to 16 May 2017, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.400’N / 103 deg. 36.291’E
2) 01 deg. 13.400’N / 103 deg. 36.381’E
3) 01 deg. 13.289’N / 103 deg. 36.410’E
4) 01 deg. 13.203’N / 103 deg. 36.499’E
5) 01 deg. 13.211’N / 103 deg. 36.575’E
6) 01 deg. 13.331’N / 103 deg. 36.595’E
7) 01 deg. 13.369’N / 103 deg. 36.648’E
8) 01 deg. 13.458’N / 103 deg. 36.748’E
9) 01 deg. 13.482’N / 103 deg. 36.810’E
10) 01 deg. 14.123’N / 103 deg. 36.810’E
11) 01 deg. 14.125’N / 103 deg. 36.686’E

13) 01 deg. 14.474’N / 103 deg. 36.293’EThe work involves transporting and dumping of sand material by self-discharge sand carrier and trailer suction hopper dredgers to Stockpile Area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Locks Lane Outage scheduled
Wednesday, November 16, 2016, Panama Canal, Panama
Beginning at 2000 hours on Friday, November 18, 2016, until 0800 hours on Saturday, November 19, 2016, the EAST side of Gatun locks will be out of service in order to perform scheduled repairs on the northeast approach wall and on rising stem valve 223.As a result, and in accordance with the rules governing  the Transit Reservation System, Condition 1.a for the Panamax Locks will be in effect on Saturday, November 19, 2016.Applications for reserved transits while Condition 1.a is in effect will be received beginning at 0900 hours on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. The Just-In-Time (JIT) transit slots, as well as the booking slots available through the Auction Process, and the slots available for regular vessels less than 300 feet in LOA, will continue to be Panama offered during this period.

Coal loader damaged
Wednesday, November 16, 2016, Brisbane, Australia
On the evening of Sunday 13 November, the shiploader at the Queensland Bulk Handling coal terminal in Brisbane was damaged due to extreme weather.The loader is currently inoperable. A preliminary assessment of the damaged indicated that it could take several weeks for it to be repaired.As a result, during this time, the terminal will not be able to load coal onto ships.
