Three years of low Markets

The BDI looks downwards and peace on earth too given the three years worsening of the situation in both fronts; John Faraclas’ daily report:

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) closed down eight points since yesterday at 1,196 points, four points below the 1,200 threshold that many believed to be the beginning of reaching the 1,500 and eventually 2,000 point-mark… This month brings the Markets in their lowest overall three years level from the December 2013 position. Having predicted this situ, we are now warning for further market hiccups!

The Capers’ BCI 2014 lost 57 points since yesterday and now reads 2,206… volatility as always with this size… and same has a long way to go…

The Panamaxes’ BPI gained 21 points and now stands at 1,486 points.

The Supras’ BSI at plus five now reads 917 – a steady upwards mood…, and the

Handies’ BHSI with a plus of four points continues to safely maintain the 500 plus point level.

A downwards case with the Wets; the last BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) were both lost four points and now the respective indices stand at 891 and 439 respectively…

The Boxships performance and future of all kinds of TEU/FEUships whether sort or long term is questionable; you need consolidation, better economic and ecological ships and in my humble view speed; lastly people in high places! Expect a messy outcome in this sector!

Expect bankruptcies in all fronts; tough time are here to remain…

The WTI at US$ 51.57 cause problems for the poor but gains for the producers and major oil companies… An issue to watch though…

The geopolitical sector gets worse:

The MIGRANTS saga, as we have every day stressed in respective reporting, goes from worse to worse – just try to read all our previous reports and see also the coming incalculable escalation.

The Wars (yes the wars) in Syria gets worse; again things will turn sour and the entire region will be drugged into a major conflagration given Turkey’s stance.

The ISIS mess unfortunately continues and unless we see its collapse asap, things will continue to go worse. As we have said, we need at the end to see the ISIS procurement allies/suppliers be exposed and ridiculed! Enough of the hype!

Turkey is pushing its luck by pestering Greece and denying the existence and validity of international treaties. On top of this the way Turkey “includes” Albania in this pestering inferno against Greece raises big question marks vis-à-vis the European Union solidarity and NATO’s policy. Shame!

Greece continues to be in a mess and given the inability of the current regime and politicians to negotiate the entire situation within and externally, the ARISTOS team to run Greece is a MUST here and now.

BREXIT once again makes waves with another issue coming up: will the United Kingdom pay to have access to the single market? A very complicated case… Overall we wonder how outrageous is the entire issue of the European Union: how come there are not rules if one member state wishes to leave? Article 50 or whatever is one thing, reality and procedures yet another. The Mighty Continent will seize to remain mighty under the circumstances. The European Union for example was and continues to be liable for not having a coherent policy on the MIGRANTS issue; this spells it all: a Union in disarray. It is Germany to blame for all the happenings. If things continue, it will be at the end of the day that the German people will suffer. New kids in the block might have a different view altogether with Germany… After the German reunification, German leaders slowly but steadily go over the top with inhumane and also wrong policies.

The Ukraine issue might create havoc in the Black Sea and the Russians are not joking. The West must understand not to overstay its welcome.

President Hollande will be the first French president not to seek a second term; pourqui?

Interesting developments might happen in Italy… Let’s wait the referendum there…

Terrible things are happening in South Sudan; an ethnic cleansing “operation” is under way… Shame!

Extra tax in China for expensive cars…

Strange things, unbelievable things surface after the air accident in Colombia; wonder what to believe. Pity !

In the USA Wilbur Ross in chosen by Donald Trump as secretary for Commerce! Elaine Chao will most probably lead as transport secretary!

That’s all for now.

Be on guard for every eventuality; things can change very fast and affect trade and transport all over Planet Ocean!

Have a nice evening!
