Joanna Kolatsis, partner and head of aviation travel at international law firm Hill Dickinson, chaired the first session of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) Regional Airline Conference 2017.
The event, that took place on 29th March in Copenhagen, brought together representatives from ERA’s membership of airlines, airports, manufacturers and supplier members.
Joanna led the discussion on ‘Aviation Security: Is This the Number One Issue Facing Today’s Industry?’ The session examined how security threats and terrorist attacks are part of today’s modern life and will consider if businesses are ready and able to cope with a serious security situation.
The notable panel was made up of David Ryder, Head of Aviation Security, ACI Europe; Tim Grant, Head of Security Assistance, Medaire; and Matthew Finn, Managing Director, AUGMENTIQ.
Since qualification, Joanna has specialised in aviation and travel and is well known throughout the industry. Her expertise includes aviation and travel law; commercial and regulatory matters; aviation regulatory issues including passenger rights, EC Regulation 261 and passengers with reduced mobility; disaster and crisis management and general company commercial and contractual matters, including booking terms and conditions, website compliance, charter agreements and complaints handling. In addition, Joanna has specific expertise in crisis management and criminalisation in air and travel incidents.
Joanna has also been ranked in industry legal directories The Legal 500 UK 2016 and Chambers and Partners UK 2017 and last year was recognised with a prestigious Client Choice Award for exceptional client service in aviation.
