Changes to mooring procedure |

Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, and in particular, Oil Terminal “Sheskharis”, IPP, Fuel oil Terminals and NLE are planning to implement a new procedure for mooring/unmooring operations from 1 January 2018.
The terminals want to send their own representatives – so called Mooring Masters – on board of each ship to ensure safe berthing/unberthing operations. Mooring Master must board the ships together with pilot and supervise mooring/unmooring. They will be authorized to stop operations and maneuvering, in case it is deemed unsafe. Dammam Port marine operations were suspended due to strong winds at 07.30 hours local time today (26 December). For safety reasons, the movement of all ships for docking/undocking was halted during the periods of high winds.

Due to high winds of up to 33 knots, Al Jubail port was closed for berthing and sailing at 08.00 hours local time today (26 December).

Port activates Tropical Cyclone response procedure |

The Port of Port Hedland cyclone response procedure has been activated and the port is now at Cyclone Alert Stage 1 – Monitor.
The Bureau of Meteorology continues to provide updates on Tropical System 06U and advises that there is a ‘high’ chance of a tropical cyclone being present in the region from Thursday 28 December onwards.
