YACHT RACE FROM HONG KONG TO AUCKLAND

Yacht Race from Hong Kong to Auckland
Wednesday, January 31, 2018, Hong Kong
A yacht race will take place from Hong Kong to Auckland, New Zealand on 7 February 2018 (Wednesday). About 7 yachts are expected to participate in the race.

The race will start at 1400 hours in front of the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter. The yachts will do a short lap off Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, then follow an easterly route through the Tathong Channel, thence to Auckland.

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Suspension of vessel traffic

Vessel traffic in the Dardanelles was suspended due to the poor visibility at 06:00 hours local time today (31 January).
UPDATE: Traffic resumed on both sides of the Dardanelles at 12:00 hours local time.

Traffic in the Bosphorus was suspended from 10:30 hours local time for the passage of the GSP Saturn drill platform.
UPDATE: The drill platform did not complete her transit and returned to anchorage for await the next availabile time to transit. Vessel traffic (southbound) in the Bosphorus is scheduled to resume at 18:15 hours local time.
