As per a recent amendment in the port regulations, vessels will be charged for anchors within the designated anchorage areas after completion of cargo operations, per below schedule:
Charges for Vessels anchored at designated anchorage Areas after completion of cargo operations: First 24 hours free, after that 5 fils/ GRT/ Day or part thereof.
Exceptions will be for vessels waiting due to delays in berthing instructions, or adverse weather, PPA UKC requirements, including extreme emergencies as decided by the HM.

Fire Wires or Fire Resistant Tow-Off Pendants

Effective 15 November 2018, the deployment of certified Fire Wires or Fire Resistant Tow-Off Pendants is no longer required whilst loading/discharging within the Petroleum Ports. This is in order to avoid recurrent delays and/or possible incidents caused by incorrect deployment.
However, it is Masters’ of visiting vessels discretion to appropriately deploy certified Fire Wires or Fire Resistant Tow-Off Pendants, in which case Port Control and Terminal Operator are to be advised.

Temporary Closure of Landing Steps No.1&2 of Central Pier No.9

Landing steps No. 1 and 2 of the Central Pier No. 9 will be temporarily closed from 0900 to 1600 hours between 18 and 24 November 2018 to facilitate an exhibition of a tug which will be berthed to the landing steps during the period mentioned above.
Owners, operators, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels are advised to use other landing facilities in the vicinity during the period of closure.

Public holiday for Eid-el-Maulud

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared tomorrow, Tuesday 20 November, a public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebrations.
The GAC office will be closed on this date and normal work hours will resume on Wednesday 21November.
