Installation & maintenance of silt barricades

The working period for the installation and maintenance of silt barricades off Tuas western coast has been extended.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.006 of 2019 dated 15 January 2019, the work will be conducted from 20 January to 19 July between 0730 and 1930 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18.591’N / 103 deg. 37.407’E
2) 01 deg. 18.604’N / 103 deg. 37.367’E
3) 01 deg. 18.487’N / 103 deg. 37.198’E
4) 01 deg. 18.478’N / 103 deg. 37.226’E
5) 01 deg. 18.157’N / 103 deg. 37.108’E
6) 01 deg. 18.111’N / 103 deg. 37.230’E

The silt barricades will be installed by a crane barge, assisted by the work boats. A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
