John Faraclas

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) was down 19 points mainly due to another asymmetrical fall of the Capes. Geopolitics maintain its momentum and we warn for dangers ahead; John Faraclas daily recap:

The Capes’ BCI was a bit upsetting at 846 – minus 83 points as the 900 points-threshold has fallen!

An eight points plus brought the Panamaxes’ BPI at 561!

A point down for the Supras’ BSI now at 414…

The Handies’ BHSI lost four points and now reads 290 points.

The gap now stands at 1,637 points ( BDI@2,247  as of 12/2013 to date BDI@610); this is the harsh reality.-

The Wets were down too; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 805  and 633 – minus one and three points respectively…

The WTI was down at US$ 52.64 (23:00 gmt)… that’s a good US$ 1.37 down since yesterday!

The Geopolitics bring, as we have warned  you all along, too many dangers and disasters:

Migrants maintain its position as the number one danger to all intents and purposes.

The EU following a melee between France and Italy saws that things are not as envisaged and cracks appear… The public, something like 513 million people might soon find themselves in front of incalculable dangers… Greek people have been bullied, Cypriot and Portuguese too; BREXIT  ante portas or whatever; ITALEXIT might come up… Caution as the Balkans are still a dangerous place despite what the politicians say… Turkey stirs up the Balkans and bullies all of its neighbours… Greece in limbo… The Eastern Med becomes a very dangerous place… Add the Syrian and Iraqi saga… The ongoing Middle East conflict with Israel and Palestinians…  This is part of the faulty line from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa… CAUTION…

The other side of the Atlantic is faced also with major issues both in North as well as in South America – with Venezuela even to be faced with a civil war…

The Trade War escalates…

More news tomorrow…

With the artist in front of her super Odalisque

On another tone and note the superb work of French artist Agnes Pezeu as seen at the private view at the After Nyne Gallery in Holland Park was something more than exceptional; we’d never seen anything quite like that before! To begin with: a remarkably unique technotropy. Agnes traces a charcoal outline of models enacting various scenes before drizzling paint over canvas to further delineate the silhouettes. Agnes Pezeu has over the course of more than 30 private views and 25 group expositions… developed extraordinary works enhancing the concept of the mind and transforming life in many dimensions… totally inspiring work worshipping the human body and mind. Each one of her paintings and operations is a unique story! After Nyne Gallery too and its lay-out was very much correlating to her work… It was a different evening, a privilege to meet members of Agnes’s family including husband Mark Villand – can’t wait to read his book on the Vikings, yes a most family, friendly atmosphere. Their daughter Halveig was there too – she studies art in the UK. The exhibition is on until the 23rd of February. 10 Portland Road, London W11 4LA – five minutes’ walk from Holland Park station.

Have a nice evening and remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean.
