International Seaways’ Lois Zabrocky to Keynote SHIPPINGInsight Conference

Convergence of Change in Shipping

STAMFORD, Conn., July xx, 2019 – Lois Zabrocky, President and CEO of International Seaways, will open Day 2 (October 16th) of the 8th annual SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization and Innovation Conference & Exhibition – North America’s premier maritime technology event.  She will be addressing the Convergence of Change in Shipping and its impact on shipping companies to an audience of 250 maritime executives.   The conference will be held October 15-17th at the Stamford Hilton in Stamford, Connecticut USA.

‘Today’s shipping industry is facing an unprecedented convergence of change” observed Ms. Zabrocky.  “Shipowners around the globe are developing strategies to meet these changes and manage through them.  This is not change for the sake of change, but change that is prompted by societal, environmental, regulatory, and commercial demands.  It is our job to navigate our companies successfully through this period of disruption.”

Lois K. Zabrocky has been President and Chief Executive Officer of International Seaways, one of the largest tanker companies worldwide, since 2016.  The Company owns and operates a fleet of 46 tankers.  Through joint ventures, it has ownership interests in 4 LNG carriers and 2 Floating Storage and Offloading Service vessels.

“There is an enormous burden being placed on shipping’s leadership today” observed SHIPPINGInsight’s Chief Evolution Officer Carleen Lyden Walker.  “We look forward to learning from Lois how she is approaching these challenges to propel her company into the future.  What is driving their decisions, and what support do they need from multiple sectors of the industry to be successful.”

Topical discussions on finalization of preparations for 2020, enforcement of the new regulation, preparing for 2023 and the movement towards decarbonization, impact of the Poseidon Principles on shipping, cybersecurity preparation for 2021, and the risks/rewards of digitalization are some of the issues being covered.  There will also be a “Shark Tank” featuring the latest startups in maritime.

SHIPPINGInsight will be held October 15-17th at the Stamford Hilton.  Preceding the afternoon launch on October 15th will be two private label seminars.  Partnerships for the event are available by contacting David Weidner.  To attend the conference, go to SHIPPINGInsight registration.

“Leveraging off last year’s tremendous success, SHIPPINGInsight is perfectly positioned to support the shipping industry as one of the last events before January 1, 2020” stated Walker
