What a week that was with the BDI@1,924 and Armageddon advancing further…
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost five points earlier on today and now stands at 1,924; on a weekly basis though, the BDI was up a “hefty” 157 points – from 1,767 last week (04/10/2019). The Capes lost 29 points and now the BCI stands at 3,290 points; on a weekly basis though there was a triple-digit rise of 269 points – up from 3,021 (04/10)…
The Panamaxes’ BPI was up 17 points to 1,916 points and on weekly 185 points – another triple-digit points up (from 1,731 last week)..
Seven points plus for the Supras’ BSI now at 1,218 points; the weekly gains were 119 points – from 1,199 (04/10)…
Still minor losses for the Handies’ BHSI now at 652 – minus two; the weekly losses stood at 18 points – from 670 last week…
Different picture on the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 1,941 – up 380 points!!!!!! The weekly rise was 750 points (from 1,191)… Rates for VLCC’s went over and above the US$ 100,000 per day level… and will go even higher! The Cleans were also up 30 points plus to 666 – a good devil’s number though and on a weekly basis another triple digit was there, 122 points – from 544!!!
The WTI stood at US$ 54.85 up US$ 2.04 from last Friday’s (04/10) when same stood at US$ 52.81… CAUTION as we need to see the WTI below the US$ 49.99 mark!
The Geopolitical front needs to be fully monitored and analysed in every single detail and everything we see we must study and have a plan to deter same as same will affect Shipping in its entirety…
Starting with the MIGRANTS, the number one issue, a pandemic now which hour by hour gets incalculable dimensions and the only way to stop same in an orderly Military way is what we have proposed since its eruption: “A Naval Blockade with a Mandate and Rules of Engagement.” The Turkish premeditated invasion in Northern Syria will send over to Europe thousands of desperate MIGRANTS and Jihadists. The EU and NATO MUST stop the blah blah and act swiftly by stopping this despicable invasion even by Military Force; this is the only way president Erdogan and his likes in Turkey will get the message. Expect a major spill over and this coming weekend things will become out of hand… The Kurds will do everything possible to survive and make alliances even with the devil!
The invasion itself will also create a wider conflict in a very perplexed environment… and wonder who can stop it, unless as we fear it’s a well performed scenario… War Father of All; if you don’t destroy you cannot rebuild
As per our previous years’ reporting on the faulty line from Gibraltar to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa same has now four to five spots ready to explode: The Balkans were Turkey and Russia try to stir up the situation with Serbia and Kosovo as well as with Greater Albania… This will bring in many others as any changes in the Balkans frontiers means an all out war coupled with religion too! Fanatism at its best
The Aegean were Turkish provocations to Greece’s and European Union’s airspace and territorial Waters is second to none will soon make waves… The European Union cannot be trusted with its current behavioural response… It’s only blah blah, action please! The borders are Europeans and Turkey is NOT in Europe; Turkey acts as an aggressor to the European and Western values!
Cyprus being completely bullied by Turkish drill ships and frigates and wonder what might erupt there. Again: too much blah blah from the EU and NATO! Turkey cannot be trusted as a NATO ally nor as a future European Union partner; no way! Europe doesn’t need Turkey; end of the story!
Cyprus Maritime biennial Conference and Exhibition was a great event!
The entire East Med/Middle East with the Turkish aspirations might cause the Russian interference…
Iraq and Iran are still in a mess…. Saudi Arabia too…
Israel is closely watching all developments in the region and rightly so!
North Africa with Libya in total mess…
The Straits of Hormuz and in general all Planet Ocean’s dire straits must be secured and safe for navigation as a lot of issues deriving from a jeopardy there will ruin the trade and increase over night the World Debt above the US$ 250 (twohundedandfifty) trillion!
The Trade Wars are still on; neither the USA nor China are ready to compromise… There are other Trade Wars too involving Europe and the USA; let’s watch them closely too.
BREXIT will create more mess with or without a deal as nothing is construed in a way to trust either’s outcome. CAUTION.
At the other side of the Atlantic president Trump has to ensure he is not impeached… He will fight in any way he can to the end… If he wins he will make the biggest mess in the history of the Democrats and wonder what will happen… In his foreign policy his aides must offer him the reality and update him; some of his responses on the Kurds were completely out of any proportion and we are sure he will reprimand those who have wrongly advised him!

North Korea’s leaders must come down to their senses before they come down to their knees… Tests with nukes and submarines put them in the testing line… You dead well know what I mean…
The Hong Kong situation must be diffused in a peaceful manner before we are faced with a big drama!
Putin’s Russia has his own agenda and its worth to follow what he is doing and planning! CAUTION here too!
