Continuous Dry surge whilst Wets struggle amid enigmatic Geopolitics
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained 50 points since last Friday and now stands at 973 – very close to the 1,000 point threshold; hopes are still alive… A good start for this crucial week! The Wets struggle… Geopolitics given the Wold Debt of US$ 260 trillion, the unique Recession and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) anathema will rock the boat of Peace. CAUTION. The Capes’ BCI gained 25 points surpassing the 1,600 point threshold and now reads 1,648… It I the only size with a triple digit rise…
The Panamaxes’ BPI clinched a dozen points and now reads 884…
15 valuable points for the Supras’ BSI now at 612 surpassing also the 600 points threshold!
The Handies, as always with a single digit rise saw the BHSI at 329 – up eight.
So all in all a Capes driven Market which as per previous “statements” and views from our side, doesn’t constitute a Market nor it’s a Market… CAUTION!
The Wets struggle – at least today’s fall was more than mild; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 545 – minus six and 415- minus three points respectively…
The WTI stood at US$37.12 up 86 cents since last Friday’s closing… We maintain the view that under the current circumstances, the lower the WTI and conversely the Brent, the better for the Global economy! Just think of it and try to work towards this goal!!!
Geopolitics continue to be enigmatic..:
MIGRANTS continue to be the number one issue but the EU MUS here and now reprimand and intervene to Turkey’s and its backers despicable blackmail in bringing in the EU – mainly through Greece MIGRANTS. S H A M E !!
Moreover, Turkey is the number one country in the Central and East Med trying to destroy PEACE; its backers are more than pathetic… Shame!!!
In the EU the issue of BREXIT continues and its “OK” for the Political level what politicians do, BUT NOT for the public on both sides of the Straits of Dover. Wake up!
Not only on both sides of the Atlantic but beyond, all over Planet Ocean there is a detestation vis-à-vis Colonialism and Slavery, Racism and whatever you can imagine following George Floyd’s death and it shouldn’t go further. Having said this, we MUST all learn to reason with each other and reality!
Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to cause more turbulences than those being aired and our message last Friday on a fistful of Dollars must alert you. We are still at “War”, the “enemy” is still here… AND no direct flights to Athens from London and visa versa; what’s up…
Lastly, what an excellent Annual Report by the GSCC that was !!

We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let’s work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 260 (twohundredandsixty) trillion!!!!
