The Shipping Law Review – Seventh Edition

We are delighted to announce the publication of the seventh edition of The Shipping Law Review, an important legal book for the shipping sector, edited by HFW.

The shipping industry continues to be one of the most significant sectors worldwide, with the United Nations estimating that commercial shipping represents around US$380 billion in terms of global freight rates, amounting to about 5 per cent of global trade overall. More than 90 per cent of the world’s trade is still transported by sea. The law of shipping remains as interesting as the sector itself and the contributions to this book continue to reflect that.

The book is a cross-jurisdictional companion for those handling shipping disputes and contains a summary of key shipping law provisions in more than 30 countries. HFW has, as before, contributed chapters on Australia, China, England & Wales, France, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the UAE and the US, and also co-authored chapters on the shipping law of Greece and Singapore.

HFW has provided eleven chapters on important developments affecting the global shipping industry in relation to environmental regulation, sanctions, competition and regulatory law, offshore, logistics, ports and terminals, shipbuilding, marine insurance, piracy, decommissioning, and ship finance. Our editor’s preface highlights what we see as the current key challenges and opportunities for the sector.

The electronic copy of the book is compatible with computers, laptops, iPads, Kindle, smartphones and other e-Reading devices. Please click the link “Download PDF” to access the ebook
