NORMAL CONVOY TIMINGS EXPECTED FROM MONDAY

Normal convoy timings expected from Monday
Saturday, April 3, 2021, Suez Canal, Egypt

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has announced that they intend and expect Canal transits to be back to normal timings starting from convoys on Monday 5 April.

Ships arriving before the limit time of 2300 hours local time will join the next day of arrival convoy starting at about 0400 hours local time daily.

Since the grounded ship was floated and the waterway cleared, a total of 446 ships transited the Canal in the five days from 30 March to today (3 April) – an average of 85 per day.

For tomorrow (4 April), the following arrangements are expected, as per available information from the SCA:

SOUTHBOUND CONVOY
0800 hours local time – about 18 ships will enter the canal and wait at Great Bitter Lakes anchorages.
1330 hours local time – about 3 ships will enter the canal with a free run until exiting from Suez.
1430 hours local time – about 17 ships will enter the canal with free run until exiti from Suez.

NORTHBOUND CONVOY
0900 hours local time – about 26 ships will enter the canal and wait at Great Bitter Lakes anchorages.
1430 hours local time – about 22 ships will enter the canal with free run until exiting from Port Said.

The convoy arrangements are subject to change from time-to-time by the SCA.
