Hellenic Initiatives for Clean Seas

Within the framework of actively embracing the principles of corporate responsibility for viable economic growth and social welfare, WISTA Hellas announces the “Clean Seas” initiative, with the first related event entitled “Hellenic Initiatives for Clean Seas”, scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 16.00 to 18.00. The event is part of a campaign to brief the general public and to promote Hellenic initiatives for marine environmental protection, in tandem with supporting Greek shipping, the global leader.

WISTA Hellas (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) is a non-profit professional association established in Greece in 1993, with its members being female professionals active in Greece’s shipping-maritime, trade and logistics sectors. It promotes diversity, inclusiveness, and business relations among its members, supports education as a means of professional development and competency, and works toward empowering women and addressing the issue of gender gap in leadership positions and in seafaring careers. It also organizes seminars and forums to address current topics and facilitates the exchange of information, experiences and best practices. Furthermore, WISTA Hellas promotes the Greek Maritime sector, and works towards support of environmental protection with various initiatives.
