The New Blue Economy: This panel will explore how emerging capabilities for acquiring ocean data & delivering actionable ocean information can enable a growing Blue Economy. Speakers include: Rick Spinrad (Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere & NOAA Administrator) & Claire Jolly (Head of Innovation Policies for Space and Oceans Unit).
Energy Transition: This panel will detail how the pressing need for climate change mitigation & adaptation is driving a profound transition in the use of the ocean as a source of energy. Speakers include: Brent Wanner (International Energy Agency), Alistair Dutton (Global Wind Energy Council) & Andrew Hodgson (Global Underwater Hub).
Technology In Support Of Science: This session will explore how technological innovation enables ocean scientific research & will explore how emerging technologies will underpin delivering ‘the science we need for the ocean we want’. Speakers include: Vladimir Ryabinin (Inter-governmental Oceanographic Commission – UNESCO-IOC), Professor Ed Hill (National Oceanography Centre) & Dr Jyotika Virmani (Schmidt Ocean Institute) .
The Dockside will be a bustling hub of activity with demos happening daily and a flotilla of moored vessels. Expect demos from: Teledyne Marine, OceanAlpha, CEIIA, Blueye, Seafloor Systems and L3Harris. Moored vessels include exhibits from Hays Ships, Norbit Subsea, Sonardyne, & Briggs Marine Contractors.
