Ukrainian International Law Association Publishes Geneva Declaration on Human Rights at Sea David Fri, 11/08/2023 – 16:23

The Geneva Declaration on Human Rights at Sea (GDHRAS) and accompanying Commentary has been published in the 2^nd Edition 2023 of the Ukrainian International Law Association journal.

From pages 67 – 81, the Ukrainian Journal features the inaugural issuing of the first full text publication in Ukraine.

Importantly, it provides improved legal and policy awareness both in-country and internationally.

The background work for finalising the submission has been ongoing since late 2022 through a small multi-disciplinary team based between the UK and various locations throughout the country.

Seafish is sponsored by the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to support the UK’s seafood industry. 

Seafish does this in several ways, including ‘Ensuring a Safe and Skilled Workforce’ and championing the industry’s reputation.  

Responsible Fishing Port Scheme 

Seafish owns and manages the Responsible Fishing Port Scheme (RFPS), which was reviewed in Version 1.1 of Human Rights at Sea’s (HRAS) Fisheries and Aquaculture Certification, Standards and Ratings Report. The scheme scored highly, fulfilling twelve out of sixteen Key Performance Indicators.
