9 April 2024 – The Shipowners’ Club, the leading P&I insurer in the smaller and specialist vessel sector, is proud to announce the latest developments that have been made to its self-service broker portal, P&I Online.
Technology continues to develop at pace, as do the requirements of people, for instant personalised and ever-improving service levels. As such, the Club will always strive to ensure it is constantly adapting to meet the evolving needs of its Membership and their brokers.
Since the Club’s P&I Online portal was launched in April 2022, a great response has been received with approximately 1,300 brokers worldwide now using the functionality. The portal offers 24/7 access to key documentation including broker statements, loss ratio and claims summaries and more recently, the ability to bind renewals with a simple click of a button.
The Club will continue to invest in technology to help in maintaining its reputation of providing an accurate, efficient and personal service to its Membership and their brokers.
The Club’s Chief Information Officer, Mark Hamblin, commented:

This will not only enable brokers to bind policies, produce documentation and information for their clients instantly and accurately 24/7, but it will also allow our underwriting colleagues to focus even more on the service levels that the Club is famous for.”

“I found the binding process via the portal easy and practical. After I bound the renewal, the documentation was rapidly sent to my email.”
