You all know that this medium for 13 years fully supports the Seafaring and Offshore Maritime Education and Training as well as the encouragement to the new generation to follow either an onboard profession and afterwards to seek an office job, or the straight forward office job, following of course a familiarisation at sea.
We are pleased to bring you verbatim Stratos Mastrantonis’ view, eagerness and experience to follow Shipping:
“My name is Stratos Mastrantonis.
I was born and grew up in Vrontados, a shipping and seafaring town of the Greek island of Chios in North Aegean Sea.
I graduated from the 2nd primary school of Panagia Erythiani, and Vrontados High School and Lyceum.
Since I was a child I used to listen to my grandfather, Captain Stratis Bachas, and all the neighbours and family friends in the area I live, telling stories about the sea, the seafarers and the challenges they faced during the long, long voyages they had at that time, which made me fell in love with the sea and the shipping industry in its entirety.
This was the reason why I chose to study at the Port Management and Shipping Department of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens; it was a challenge for myself as well. I graduated from the University a few days ago and I am very proud of this.”
Hope this helps a lot for the thousand of youngsters all over Planet Ocean, an in particular Greeks, people of Seafaring and Shipping for over nine millenia to opt of Shipping and Shipping related opportunities whether on board or ashore!
