It’s the start of LME week in London and representatives from the entire supply chain meet to discuss current trends in metals markets, what to expect for the year ahead, and to network with industry peers and colleagues.
In its purest form, the LME week presents an opportunity to discuss and debate on the big opportunities and issues facing the metals industry today. And the Affinity event at the King’s Arms pub in Mayfair was no accident to this facilitation. Being around the likes of Trafigura, Glencore, MOL, Spliethoff, and TMA Bulk, Affinity organised a brilliant networking event, serving the shipping profession in offering illuminating and fresh perspectives.
It was great to see the older and younger generations coming together and exchanging their insights, experiences, and goals for the future in a hospitable manner. And yet, having an in depth discussion on the metal supply chain was not only of great value to the understanding of market trends; it was also of great value to the learning of junior and aspiring practitioners. Will be looking forward to attending more such events during this week and connecting with people attending LME week from all around the world.
