London – TTG Travel Industry Awards 2024: GNTO (Greek National Tourism Organisation) named Best Tourism Board 2024
The GNTO was awarded Best Tourism Board for 2024 for the UK market at the TTG Travel Industry Awards 2024, held in London on September 26, 2024. Greece’s nomination, representing the actions of the GNTO office in the UK & Ireland, won in the category of “Tourist Board of the Year 2024” after being selected by a large panel of judges from five final nominations, which included the Spanish and Maltese Tourism Boards.
Greece also achieved a second win in the category of Sustainable Travel Company of the Year 2024, awarded to Sani Resorts.
GNTO’s recognition came as a result of the comprehensive and creative marketing strategy implemented by the UK & Ireland office to promote Greece in the British market. The criteria for the award included measurable results, the organisation’s leadership in trade management, and clear sustainability measures. Additionally, the judges appreciated GNTO’s immediate and collective response to the wildfires in the summer of 2023.
The award was accepted by Eleni Skarveli, Head of the GNTO UK & Ireland office, who represented GNTO alongside Olga Athanasiadou, an employee of the office.
During the event, guests were served a meal inspired by traditional Greek recipes, which received positive feedback from attendees.
The TTG Travel Industry Awards are organised by TTG, a professional media platform catering to over 10,000 subscribers, including travel agents and professionals from the British tourism market. The awards aim to recognise the top brands and individuals who have excelled in the tourism industry over the past year.
