Port Calls

The core purpose of London International Shipping Week is to be a truly international event. So, while Team #LISW25 is necessarily focused on London and the rest of the UK – engaging with Government and Industry, maritime organisations, charities, the Royal Navy and other key stakeholders – it is also sharply focused on the world outside the UK, always seeking to draw the leaders of the international shipping and maritime sectors into London for what has become one of the most important weeks in the global maritime calendar.

Last week, LISW Co-Founder Sean Moloney, Steering Group Chair John Hulmes, Commercial and Operations Director Andy Snell, and Business Development Manager Paula Gibbons, all attended the UK Chamber of Shipping’s Shipping UK conference in London. Meanwhile, fellow Business Development Manager Joseph Cleary was blazing a trail for LISW in Hamburg and LISW’s other Co-Founder, Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes, was on a similar mission in Singapore.

Joseph attended the IAPH World Ports Conference in Hamburg, meeting with European ports Hamburg, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerp-Bruges, and Gothenburg, as well as with port representatives from New Jersey, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Singapore, and various African countries.

Meanwhile, Llewellyn attended the world’s biggest marine fuels conference, SIBCON, organised by the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore. Having attended this event continually since its inauguration in 1988, Llewellyn has closely monitored bunker market developments in Singapore and all around the world for the past 40 years. Now, however, things are moving faster than ever. The focus at SIBCON and other marine fuels events – including next week’s Marine Energy Transition Forum in Antwerp and ARACON in Rotterdam – is now very much on decarbonisation, alternative fuels, and digitalisation, all of which will feature prominently in the Headline Conference and in many of the other events taking place during LISW25.

Raise your profile at the IMO

The LISW25 Headline Conference, to be held at the International Maritime Organization’s London headquarters on Wednesday 17 September 2025, will be attended by some 700 VIP delegates from over 60 countries and will therefore provide a unique opportunity to those looking to raise their profile in the international shipping sector.

High powered networking with businesses and political leaders from the UK and abroad during the conference coffee and lunch breaks  will continue into the evening with the Rooftop Reception that follows the conference.

There are still some opportunities available for sponsors seeking to make their mark before and during the conference and well as gaining access to all delegates and speakers throughout the day.
