New York, November 17, 2024 – This week is New York Maritime Days with an array of activities designed to bring together the maritime community as we search for solutions to our industry’s thorniest challenges. Wednesday the 20th is SHIPPINGInsight’s focus on “Solutions through Innovation:  Bringing Good Ideas to Reality” at the Westin Times Square, beginning with a WISTA Entrepreneurs Breakfast, then an overview of the impact on maritime of the recent US elections by Holland & Knight’s Sean Pribyl with the legal perspective and NATO’s view of the geopolitical landscape, plus the maritime state of play from security expert Windward. 

Viewpoints will be offered on challenges facing the industry from the commercial, financial, bunkering, security and workforce arenas. The day also includes presentations on solutions, a shipowner/port roundtable followed by a focus on innovation, which will feature information on MARAD’s US Maritime Innovation Center. Additional elements include the North American launch of TOOL, a networking platform for ocean technology and investors, ending with SHIPPINGInsight’s world renowned SHARK TANK.

SHIPPINGInsight’s conference is part of New York Maritime Days, which includes an event hosted on November 19th by MAPONYNJ on Alternative Fuels, Marine Money on November 21st and NAMEPA’s Regions event on November 22nd.

Leading partners include ABS, Holland & Knight, Windward, TOOL, Signal Fusion, the American Club, and ASR with organizational partners such as MAPONYNJ, Marine Money, Connecticut Maritime Association, American Waterway Operators, WISTA, Seaman’s Church Institute, NAMEPA, Tulane Law, Naval and Maritime Consortia, Marine Link, Maritime Executive, Journal of Commerce, Informa, and Actualid.
