Our July gathering brought members together for a relaxed and joyful evening to mark the end of a successful season. Under the glow of the full moon on a beautiful rooftop, and surrounded by plenty of wonderful company, we explored different parts of the beautiful city of Athens, enjoyed lively conversations, summer vibes, and the perfect send-off before the holidays.
Thank you to all who joined us, your presence and uplifting energy contributed to the event’s success – we’re already looking forward to the next one!
WISTA Hellas June Members’ Gathering

WISTA Hellas Celebrates World Environment Day with a Powerful Dialogue on Climate Change and Shipping!
On June 5th, World Environment Day, we had the pleasure of hosting a thought-provoking panel discussion on “How the maritime industry is adapting to the impact of climate change and what are the implications of climate change to the industry.”
This event marked the second in our series of gatherings shaped directly by our Members’ Poll – a testament to our commitment to listen, respond, and act on the interests of our community. It was especially meaningful that this topic, resonating with the spirit of the day, ranked as the second most popular among our members.
Three of our distinguished panelists are proud WISTA Hellas members, embodying our guiding motto: “By the members, for the members.” We are grateful for their insights and for reinforcing the strength of our network. A special thanks to all of our esteemed panelists: Anna Kalathakis (Navios Maritime Holdings Inc.), Anna Karmiri (UGS), Natassa Matzaridi (DNV Hellas SINGLE MEMBER S.A.), Metaxia Psalti (Neda Maritime Agency Co. Ltd.), as well as our moderator, Olga Stavropoulou (Helmepa), for their insightful contributions.
A heartfelt thank you to the Hellenic Maritime Museum for graciously hosting us and extending their hours to make this evening possible. Your support made a lasting impression.
This initiative is proudly aligned with the goals of METAVASEA, a HELMEPA – Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association-led project where WISTA Hellas participates as an Associate Partner, reinforcing our shared vision for a more sustainable maritime industry.

WISTA Hellas & ALBA Women in Leadership Reunion & DEIB Panel

WISTA Hellas & ALBA Women in Leadership: Reunion & DEIB Panel!
Over the past four years, the WISTA Hellas & ALBA Women in Leadership course has successfully completed four impactful sessions. While most of these were delivered remotely due to the pandemic, we were delighted to recently host an in-person reunion to bring together all our attendees—both members and non-members.
With the generous support of Alba Graduate Business School, who kindly hosted us, the event featured a thought-provoking panel on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). It was inspiring to hear diverse perspectives from academia, represented and moderated by Professor Axarloglou Kostas, Dean of ALBA, and Aristotelis Alexopoulos, PhDc, Director of Applied Research & Teaching Fellow at ALBA, as well as other industries such as technology and finance, including Nora Gikopoulou, Head of People Development at Agile Actors & Teaching Fellow at ALBA, and Luisa Grigorakou, Group People Development & D&I Manager at Quest Group — sparking a rich discussion on how DEIB processes can be more effectively embedded in the maritime sector.
The evening concluded with networking drinks, offering a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with alumni and continue the exchange of ideas in a more informal setting.
