Hello my friend,
It’s been a while since my last update – but silence doesn’t mean nothing has been happening. Quite the opposite.
First, the biggest thing: I’m grateful to be alive.
This summer marked two years cancer-free and one year since finishing treatment. I’m still recovering, still learning my new rhythms… and feeling deeply excited about life.
I also have a special interview to share with you.
“HOW CANCER HEALED MY POLISH TRAUMAS” – Gazeta Wyborcza

It was never my dream to be on the cover of a national newspaper talking about cancer. But life doesn’t really ask for permission – it throws you into its currents, and the only thing you can do is stop resisting and let it carry you.
That’s how my shaved-head portrait, taken just before chemotherapy, ended up on the cover of Gazeta Wyborcza in Poland with the headline: ‘How Cancer Healed My Polish Traumas.’
In that piece, I opened up about identity, illness, art, and the strange kind of peace that can come from facing yourself when there’s nowhere left to hide.

I hope you’ll enjoy the read.
With love,
Aleksandra Karpowicz (aka Ayavaa)
