Every year, more than a hundred cruise ships dock in Monaco between April and November, requiring a precise and carefully orchestrated procedure. Any vessel over 80 metres must take a local pilot on board, who coordinates with the captain, port agents, and Météo France to manage the manoeuvre. Traffic in the port is completely stopped during docking, with agents securing the vessel once alongside. Despite the scale of some ships, operations are well-practised, with the entire process often completed in little more than an hour.
