September 19th – HOUSTON, TX – At a time when the United States faces pressing questions about its economic security, national defense, and energy independence, the maritime industry is under increasing pressure to deliver solutions. SHIPPINGInsight 2025: Revitalizing the American Maritime Industry – Next Steps will serve as the forum where trailblazers come together to confront these challenges and define the strategies that will drive U.S. maritime revitalization for decades to come. Taking place October 15–16 at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport, this conference will bring together global executives, senior government officials, technology innovators, and potential clients for two days of unparalleled dialogue, innovation, and action.

The opening keynote by Barbara Pickering, President of Chevron Shipping, will underscore the scale of opportunity and responsibility facing the maritime industry. Case studies and sessions will examine how ports, shipowners, and operators can drive lasting impact. Roger Rees, CEO of the Port of Galveston, will highlight how one port has served as a model of revitalization for two centuries, while leaders from the Port of Houston, Navigator Gas, Aramco Trading Americas, and Parkland Corporation will showcase how Texas is spearheading maritime transformation. This will be followed by RADM James Watson, USCG (Ret.), who will emphasize the necessity for change and outline strategies to secure U.S. maritime leadership for the future.

The agenda will then turn to the core drivers of transformation: demand signals from the public, the status of the SHIPS Act, and the White House’s perspective on maritime policy. Industry leaders including Jonathan Chia of MTI Network, Ryan Lynch of Hanwha Shipping, and David Cummins of the Blue Sky Maritime Coalition will present solutions ranging from cyber safety and weather intelligence to net-zero fuels and artificial intelligence for assessing operational risk in mariner performance. These discussions will be reinforced by insights from ABS, Prodigy Clean Energy, and other leading innovators who are already delivering the tools necessary for the transition.

The agenda reflects the urgency of U.S. maritime leadership at a national and global level. Invited policymakers, including Senator Ted Cruz, Chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and Senator Mark Kelly, sponsor of the SHIPS Act, underscore the critical importance of aligning government, industry, and innovation to secure America’s maritime future.

Innovation will be showcased by MARAD’s Elizabeth O’Connor, followed by a panel discussion led by Trail Mix Venture’s Marina Hadjipateras entitled “Charting the Future: Maritime Tech through Partnerships and Capital”. SHIPPINGInsight’s signature SHARK TANK, where entrepreneurs will present new technologies to a panel of industry leaders will round out the day.

The theme of Revitalizing the American Maritime Industry will resume on October 16th in a high-level Leadership Forum, uniting senior executives to define long-term strategies for transition, growth, and resilience. This part of the program is by invitation only.

With the backdrop of Houston, America’s maritime and energy capital, SHIPPINGInsight 2025 offers attendees access to the most influential voices in the industry and unparalleled networking opportunities that can redefine the trajectory of their businesses. From exclusive breakfasts and receptions to interactive sessions and one-on-one engagements, every element of the program is designed to deliver impact and forge connections that matter.

“This is not a conference for passive observers,” declared Carleen Lyden Walker, Chief Evolution Officer of SHIPPINGInsight. “It is a forum for those who are prepared to lead. The conversations and decisions that happen here will define the trajectory of the American maritime industry for decades to come.”

Seats are limited, and registration is filling quickly. Those who are not in Houston this October risk being excluded from the critical discussion and connections that will shape the next chapter of American maritime leadership. Visti www.SHIPPINGInsight.com to register today!
