The Board of the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) and the UK Chamber of Shipping are pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Gregory as the new Director of the MNTB, the shipping industry’s central body for promoting and developing seafarer education, training and skills.

Kevin joins the MNTB with over 25 years of maritime leadership experience, spanning senior roles both in the UK and internationally. His career includes positions at the Corporation of Trinity House, the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), London Maritime Group, and the Port of London Authority.

The appointment comes at a critical time for the maritime sector, as the UK navigates significant shifts in skills development, training requirements, technological change, and workforce capability. Kevin will work closely with the MNTB Board to shape the organisation’s strategy and will also join the UK Chamber of Shipping’s senior leadership team.

Kevin Gregory, incoming Director of the MNTB, said:

Kevin will take over from Kathryn Neilson as she moves to a new challenge overseas in May 2026. We thank Kathryn for her dedicated service to the MNTB, the UK Chamber of Shipping, and the wider industry throughout her tenure, and we wish her every success in the future.
