From cutting-edge unmanned and autonomous vessels to a packed conference programme and the prestigious Seawork Awards, the 2026 edition placed innovation firmly at the centre of the commercial marine conversation.
Seawork 2026 delivered one of its most ambitious and forward-looking programmes to date, with a conference agenda, live technology demonstrations, and industry awards that collectively reflected the pace of change reshaping the commercial marine and workboat sector.
The Seawork conference programme drew consistently strong audiences across all three days, tackling the issues most pressing to maritime operators, port authorities, and vessel owners. Sessions addressed a broad range of themes including decarbonisation pathways, vessel efficiency, and the evolving regulatory landscape, with speakers drawn from government, classification societies, and leading commercial operators.

One of the standout features of this year’s event was the inaugural Autonomous & Remote Operated Vessel Pavilion, delivered with the support of the Innovation Hub at the National Oceanography Centre. The pavilion provided a dedicated platform for companies developing the next generation of autonomous and remotely operated marine technologies and was extremely well received by visitors.

Nowhere was the sense of industry momentum more apparent than in the growing focus on unmanned and autonomous vessel technology and its real-world applications. Exhibitors and speakers across the show demonstrated the rapid maturation of these technologies — from remotely operated harbour craft through to autonomous survey and inspection vessels operating in complex environments. The practical applications for offshore energy, port management, search and rescue, and hydrographic survey were front and centre, generating some of the most engaged and well-attended discussions and presentations of the event.
The Innovations Showcase, one of Seawork’s most popular features and sponsored by SMI, once again provided a dedicated platform for companies bringing genuinely new products and technologies to market. Entrants ranged from novel propulsion systems and advanced hull coatings to sophisticated digital monitoring platforms and safety equipment, offering visitors a curated view of the technologies likely to shape operations in the years ahead.

The Seawork Awards, sponsored by Nova Shipyard, brought the celebrations and the recognition the industry deserves, spotlighting the excellence in innovation, sustainability, and operational achievement across the sector. The awards continue to grow in prestige year on year, and the 2026 ceremony drew a strong turnout from across the exhibitor and visitor community.

Seawork 2027 will take place from 15–17 June 2027 at Mayflower Park, Southampton.
