Please find attached the Operational Analysis Report – Iranian Maritime Strikes Post MoU Period, which provides an operational analysis of Iranian attacks against merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz (SoH) during the period 18 June to 21 July 2026.
Following the 17 June 2026 Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, dual transit corridors were established: a northern route along Iranian territorial waters (Iranian Corridor) administered by the Persian Gulf Strait Administration (PGSA), and a southern route along Omani territorial waters (Omani Corridor).
Iranian forces subsequently conducted a series of targeted missiles and drones (UAV & USV) strikes against vessels transiting the Omani Corridor. The pattern of attacks indicates a deliberate strategy to compel merchant vessels to utilize the Iranian Corridor and coordinate transits with PGSA, an entity remaining under U.S. sanctions.
The outcome of this IRGC strategy is that over the past five days, the traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has reached the lowest ever level since the start of war, with a dozen of vessels utilizing only the Iranian corridor.
