New Cruise Terminal proposed |
Friday, March 4, 2016, Brisbane, Australia |
The Port of Brisbane is proposing to develop a new $100 million international mega ship cruise facility for Brisbane and south east Queensland.By 2020, 62% of cruise vessels in the Australian market are expected to be over 270m in length, but there is currently no dedicated facility in Brisbane to host these “mega ships”.The proposed new facility would enable mega ships to utilize Brisbane as a base port – where passengers start and finish their journeys – and see the ity become a major cruise destination.
