The vessel, commanded by Navy Captain Victoriano Gilabert Agote, sailed once the official farewell was done by Rear Admiral Juan L. Sobrino Pérez-Crespo, Commander of the Naval Command in the Canary Islands, accompanied by Captain Luis M Garcia Rebollo, Naval Commander in Tenerife.
