A 182, 307 DWT bulk carrier ship ran aground during its transit of the Suez Canal with the Southbound convoyat about 1850 hours local time yesterday (5 May).The vessel ran aground at 143 KM of the Canal, suffering damage to its bottom. Suez Canal tugs managed to re-float it, and she exited the Canal on about 2010 hours. The vessel is now anchored in Suez Port outer anchorage.The grounding had no impact on navigation in the Canal. International cruise ships arriving at Helsinki’s South Harbour this summer can invite ‘Helsinki Helpers’ to board and provide tourist information directly to passengers.
