The BDI@1,430: CAUTION!

by admin

John N. Faraclas

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) continued its fall and the losses are now more than serious. There isn’t a single chance for the BDI to go over and above the 2,000… The wets are also stuck and Geopolitics will dictate more than you can imagine. John Faraclas’ brief daily report:

Both the Capers and Panamaxes lost 101 points with the BCI and BPI now standing at 3,115 and 1,445 points respectively…

The Supras’ BSI lost eight points and the BSI now reads 925 points…

The Handies’ BHSI lost five points and now stands at 627 points.

All in all a downwards dry market and this fall might cause tribulations everywhere! The gap widens: 2,247 – 1,430 points equals 817 points!!!! We have warned you for this outcome…

The Wets also stuck down and another warning as things might follow the dry market’s situ! The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 825 – plus one and 722 – minus one point respectively!

The WTI is now entering the dangerous zone; at US$ 58.22 as these line are written creates problems for the poor worldwide with incalculable repercussions…

The Geopolitical issues continue to worsen:

The MIGRANTS have already split Europe in two. Despicable things are happening thanks to the despicable Politicians and the cronies’ actions! SHAME…

The entire Middle East might soon go on fire; the aftermath of the Syrian and Iraqi Wars is very worrying! The unsolved Kurdish issue… brings more clouds in the entire region and as Kurds reside in four countries destabilisation is on the cards… The recognition of Jerusalem by the USA and its president as Israel’s capital might ignite an all-out war in the region… This time it will go beyond your wildest dreams…

Turkey continues to pester all in the region as well as increases its blackmail tactics… A country to watch given also that president Erdogan’s aspirations to lead a pan-islamist “cause” might create a big multi-clash… engulfing many countries in the region and its wider periphery…

Greece is being bullied and wonder what might come out of this despicable situation as history has tough us bitter lessons. Underestimating situations might become a boomerang for those organising such a crime in the region to serve the supposed vested interests…

BREXIT is on the way and favourable issues ae now surfacing… Wonder who is gone be the end looser!!!

Germany still without a government!

In the Catalonian crisis, separatists parties lead but let’s wait for the full count of the votes…

A full house at the ABS Christmas gathering with 300 attending same. Good to see a great number of the new generation like never before and that’s a good sign for the entire industry. Nice dips and drinks and networking… Pleased to see some members of the old guard there sharing their experiences; Chryson Sarigiandes, Spyros Fokas, George Zarvanos gave us a glimpse of the old days with their valuable advise!

On another tone, a sad one, the Piraeus shipping fraternity paid its respects with a final goodbye to Zoe Lappa-Papamathaiou at the St. Dimitrious cemetery; who wasn’t there… Blessed!

More news later on; until then be on guard from actions emanating from Pirates and terrorists wherever you ae on Planet Ocean…
