09/11/2018 – Oslo Børs has revised the composition of the Benchmark Index (OSEBX). The number of companies included in the index will be 63.The Benchmark Index is intended to be an investable index that comprises a representative selection of all the shares listed on Oslo Børs. Since the index is meant to be investable, shares included in the index must be relatively easy to buy and sell in the market at any time.
With effect from 1 December 2018, 1 company will enter the index while 6 companies will be removed from the index.
The following companies will be included in the index:
- MPC Container Ships
The following companies will be removed from the index:
- Hexagon Composites
- Otello Corporation
- Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ser. B
- Questerre Energy Corporation
- Funcom
- Targovax

The Oslo Børs Benchmark Index was introduced in 2001, and replaced the former total index. Since then, the number of companies included in the Benchmark Index has varied between 52 and 81. The next review of the Benchmark Index will be in May 2019, with effect from 1 June 2019.
