The BDI@677 and BREXIT continues to make waves…
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained 23 points and at 677 looks certain of surpassing the 700… Geopolitics on a turning point with BREXIT – primarily and other issues in need of attention. John Faraclas’ brief recap:
The Capes’ BCI was up 76 points surpassing the 400 points threshold and that’s more than good news!
The Panamaxes’ BPI was up 18 points and now stands at 841- not bad!
Minor losses for the Supras’ BSI now at 786 – minor three points…
Four points plus for the Handies’ BHSI now at 434 points.
The Wets with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 740 – minus three and 588 – plus eight points respectively…
The WTI stood at US$58.61 – 45 cents up… dangerous levels…
BREXIT remains perplexed and must say we are closely watching Mrs. May’s marathonian and herculean effort for the best possible result. The 412 versus 202 win for postponing BREXIT was a good one! Earlier on British MP’s rejected 334 versus 85 an amendment proposal by an independent MP – Sara Wollaston for a second referendum! Jeremy Corbyn’s amendment proposal was also turned down 318 versus 312 – parliamentary time… Hillary Ben’s amendment proposal was also turned down by 314 versus 312!! She wanted the MP’s and not the government to set the agenda of procedures…
Also another amendment was turned down to postpone the BREXIT procedure until the 30th of June 2019 by 314 to 311!!!
More news on the last update as our team is traveling – just landed to Panama for the Panama Maritime Conference 2019 – 17 to 20 March 2019 at the Megapolis Convention Centre. We can assure you that in our stop over to Madrid BREXIT’s uncertainty was the main issue we “discovered” amongst the people we managed to talk with!
