2022 – That’s a wrap!

As we come to the end of 2022, we would like to thank all of our clients for their support over the last 12 months.  What a topsy-turvy year it’s been – Ukraine, high inflation, a looming global recession, dry bulk down, containers down, tankers up, gas up …and a continuing shortfall of skilled labour the world over.  For Spinnaker, this has meant an extremely busy year – our consultants have made 20% more shore-based placements than in 2021 across all the major global shipping hubs.

Our Maritime HR Association Rewards team have recently published Spinnaker’s 16th annual salary survey based on data from a record 41,000 maritime professionals, working across 95 countries.  This data is invaluable for HR reward teams looking at their organisation’s pay and bonuses for 2023.

After a 2-year hiatus we also hosted our 14th annual Maritime People and Culture conference in London in May, and in September our annual OSCAR Dragon Boat Race raised an amazing £220,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

Looking ahead to what’s in store for 2023, we are delighted to confirm the dates of the 15th Maritime People & Culture conference as the 11th & 12th May and the annual Dragon Boat race as the 15th September, both once again in London.

Spinnaker’s recruitment consultants are busy working on many new roles so if you are a candidate looking to move, or an employer looking to hire in the new year then please do get in touch via our website – https://spinnaker-global.com/jobs

We will be opening next year’s salary survey in April, so if you are interested to take part this year, please do get in touch with the team for information about joining the Maritime HR Association – mhra@spinnaker-global.com

Our office will be closed for the Christmas break from Friday 23rd December and will re-open on Tuesday 3rd January.

We’d like to wish all of our clients a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
