Monaco mourns the passing of Didier Guillaume, Minister of State The Principality of Monaco is in mourning following the sudden death of S.E. Didier Guillaume, Minister of State, at the age of 65. Hospitalised for several days, Mr. Guillaume succumbed to a fulminating illness on Friday, January 17, leaving the nation grieving his unexpected loss. In a statement issued by the Palace, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II expressed “his immense sadness” and extended “his most sincere condolences to his wife, Béatrice Frecenon-Guillaume, his children, his brother, as well as to his entire family and loved ones.” The Prince further honoured Didier Guillaume’s “remarkable commitment in the service of the Principality since he took office on September 2, 2024,” emphasising his determination and expertise in advancing critical issues for Monaco both nationally and internationally. “His human qualities were also greatly appreciated,” the statement read. |
