Greece’s new Consulate General in Manchester was officially opened yesterday, Tuesday 28 January, by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Kotsiras – an important step to deliver better services for the Greeks in the UK and to further deepen the 🇬🇷🇬🇧 relationship.
The Consulate General in Manchester has been operational for several months now, covering northern and central England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Among the many Greek and British officials, and representatives of the Greek community in Manchester, the official opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Greece to the United Kingdom, Yannis Tsaousis, and the Consul General in Manchester, Alexandros Ioannidis, while Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain presided over the blessing of the new premises.
The opening ceremony was also graced by the presence of Professor George E Holmes, who represented 🇬🇧 HM King Charles III, the UK Ambassador to Greece, Matthew Lodge, the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester, Cllr Paul Andrews, and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Richard Kemp.
