
On 9 December 2024, the Bulk Carrier “KAMARI” (GT 32,614 – DWT 53,822) stranded off Recife OPL, Brazil due to steering gear problems. The vessel was en route from Recife, Brazil to Cadiz, Spain, laden with fertilizer.
Tsavliris arranged for the S/T “Boka Manta” for towage to Cadiz, Spain and the operation was completed successfully on 30 January 2025.

On 18 January 2025, the Bulk Carrier “EVANTHIA” (GT 32,474 – DWT 53,284) was disabled due to main engine problems, 300 n.m. W of Cape Town, South Atlantic. The vessel was en route from Porto d’agua, Brazil to Chittagong, Bangladesh, laden with raw sugar.
Tsavliris arranged for the S/T “Umkhuseli”, for towage to Durban, South Africa and the operation was completed successfully on 10 February 2025.
Propeller Club recognition


-The Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus held their annual New Year ceremony on 27 January 2025, gathering 400 guests and personalities from politics, the shipping community, the Hellenic Coast Guard and diplomatic representatives.
During the event, Nicolas Tsavliris was recognised for his invaluable contribution as past President of the Propeller Club.
-In February 2025, Nicolas Tsavliris received the Lifetime Achievement award for services rendered to the Greek Tugowners Association and the salvage/towage industry in general.
Capital Link Cyprus Shipping Forum

Capital Link hosted the 8th Annual Cyprus Shipping Forum on 18 February 2025, at the Columbia Plaza – Limassol, Cyprus with great success. The Forum took place under the Auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry of Cyprus.
George Tsavliris was the Conference Chairman for the 8th consecutive year. He was also the Moderator of the Digitalisation & Cybersecurity Panel.
London Presentation on Shipping

Andreas Tsavliris (pictured above), gave his annual lecture for the 40th consecutive year at the Bayes (ex City) University of London to the “Shipping, Trade and Finance” master’s degree students on 11 February 2025. Professor Costas Grammenos, on behalf of the University, thanked Mr Tsavliris for his commitment and his contribution to the students’. The lecture topics included merger & acquisition markets, sale & purchase of new buildings & second-hand vessels, chartering, insurance, banking, financing, currencies etc.
Piraeus University scholarships

On 27 January 2025, the University of Piraeus awarded scholarships to top students (undergraduate and postgraduate) of the departments of Finance and Shipping. Tsavliris Group supported the event for another year.
