Following our last a month ago, events, uncertainties and prevarications are swirling fast in the Middle East. But at the time of writing, it looks safe to forecast that there will be no true diplomacy, in the old-fashioned sense of the word, on offer to resolve the wide disparity between the dogmatism of the Israeli leadership and of the Iranian regime. Even the Trumpian rhetoric about any ‘deal’ seems to have been taken off the table – if it were ever really available, The proposition was – neutralise your nuclear capability, or else.

Iran has quickly been faced with the brutal realities of coercion – notably the objective displacement of 10 million people in Tehran, and millions more in other cities and locations. Regardless of whether Israel was in the right to launch its attack, the region and the world are bound up in a tangle as dangerous as ever.  No wonder Emmanuel Macron was swiftly slapped down for suggesting that Mr Trump had left the G7 summit to prepare for some form of negotiation.

The entire Shipping Industry awaits the new modus operandi… for both the Ukrainian and Middle East mess… Planet Ocean even questions a limited nuclear use…
