The title of the 62nd Aegean Rally was accompanied by the return of the boat ERYTOS II , after a fifteen-year absence, to the second oldest open sea race in the Mediterranean. The crew of Kostas Manthos took advantage of the 2 first places in the same number of first races of the Rally and withstood the counterattack launched in the last two arms by the PEGA of the Naval Cadet School. The first place in the Performance category was decided in the fourth and final race from Lipsi to Finikas of Syros. PEGA managed to reach the second consecutive victory, which, however, was not enough to knock ERYTOS II of the Nautical Club of Paleo Faliro from the top, which finished second. With a difference of 1.5 penalty points (6.25-7.75) from PEGA , the crew of Manthos will raise the winner’s cup at the 62nd Aegean Rally on Monday at the Aegean Naval Command in Piraeus.
In the Sport category, the title for the second consecutive year went to AFRODITI SOLARIS of Vasilis Miliotis. The boat of the Porto Rafti Nautical Sports Club may have lost the fourth race, but with a safety cushion of three consecutive firsts in the same number of first arms, it won the title.
