2024 SHARKTANK Winner, Danielle Southcott, CEO & Founder of Veer.Voyage with SHIPPINGInsight’s CEO Carleen Lyden Walker
August 5, 2025- HOUSTON TX – Following the tremendous success of SHIPPINGInsight’s 2024 SHARK TANK in NYC, entrants are now being accepted for start-ups and new technologies and services to compete for the coveted SHIPPINGInsight Innovation Award in Houston. The SHIPPINGInsight SHARK TANK will be part of the fourteenth SHIPPINGInsight Maritime Optimization and Innovation Conference being held on October 15th-16th at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport in Houston Texas.
Contestants (“chum”) in the SHARK TANK will face a battery of industry experts and investors who will examine their thesis, evaluate their value proposition, and decide whether to “invest” in their concepts. The winner will receive the prestigious 2025 SHIPPINGInsight Innovation Award, and gain visibility across the global maritime innovation ecosystem. There will be a total of 6 participants selected from the pool of entries.
“SHIPPINGInsight’s SHARK TANK, being held in the nexus of the US maritime industry, is pivotal to the success of our nation as it searches for innovations to kickstart its vitalization,” stated SHIPPINGInsight Chief Evolution Officer, Carleen Lyden Walker. “In addition to being featured in Houston in October, this year’s Chum have the right of first refusal to showcase their innovations at Posidonia next year, the center of global shipping. More than 80% of our Chum have been picked up by investors or for trial.”
This year’s SHARK TANK serves as the capstone event for SHIPPINGInsight 2025 conference, themed “Revitalizing the American Maritime Industry: Next Steps.” The conference convenes maritime stakeholders from across sectors to explore bold ideas, confront critical challenges, and collaborate on building a stronger US Maritime Industry on October 15th, and will be holding an invitation-only Leadership Roundtable Forum on October 16th to map out action steps for revitalization for the industry.
