A Young Creative Talent Set to Brighten the Shipping World: Meet Beatrice Sagen-Andersen

As the global shipping community gathers for Posidonia 2026, one very special young guest will be celebrating a major milestone.

On 2 June 2026, Beatrice Sagen-Andersen turns 10 years old and while many children her age are still discovering what they want to be when they grow up, Beatrice already has a clear ambition: to become an artist and one day see her artwork proudly displayed across offices throughout the global shipping industry.

The daughter of shipping leader, founder of WOMEN TOGETHER and FACT Talent, and one of shipping’s most recognised voices, Zoe Upson, Beatrice is growing up surrounded by conversations about shipping, commodities, global trade and the people who keep the world moving.

Raised in Dubai, with proud Norwegian heritage and deep shipping roots, Beatrice represents a new generation already closely connected to the maritime world, though perhaps through a very different lens.

For Beatrice, shipping is not only about vessels, ports and cargoes. It is about creativity, imagination and community.

A budding artist with a vivid imagination, Beatrice dreams of one day filling shipping offices around the world with her artwork. Her aspiration is to bring colour, warmth and personality into an industry often associated with steel, screens and commercial deals.

Whether it is paintings inspired by the sea, abstract pieces reflecting movement and trade, or simply artwork that makes people smile, Beatrice hopes one day her creations will hang proudly in boardrooms and offices across the global maritime community.

This year also marks another exciting milestone as Beatrice attends her very first Posidonia, one of the maritime industry’s most important international gatherings.

During the week, she will attend selected events, including the WOMEN TOGETHER Posidonia event, where she will experience first-hand the community her mother has built through WOMEN TOGETHER and the wider shipping network connected through FACT Talent.

For many, Posidonia is about meetings, negotiations and global business. For Beatrice, it will be an opportunity to experience the people behind the industry, hear stories from around the world and perhaps even find inspiration for her future artwork.

As shipping increasingly embraces innovation, new perspectives and future generations, perhaps there is something fitting about a young artist imagining a future where maritime offices are not only places of business, but spaces filled with creativity too.

And who knows, perhaps one day shipping leaders around the world will proudly say they own an original Beatrice Sagen-Andersen piece.

As Beatrice celebrates her 10th birthday during her first Posidonia, the shipping community wishes her a very happy birthday and looks forward to seeing where her creativity takes her next.
