PR and Marketing consultancy Jeanius Consulting is proud to announce the launch of WISTA – UK’s “Came by SHIP” essay competition, supported by Lloyd’s List.
WISTA – UK, part of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations, the “Came by SHIP” campaign has been launched to promote the importance of shipping; with over 90% of the goods and fuel we consume and export in the UK alone arriving (and departing) by ship. The essay competition forms part of the campaign, and is open to anyone aged between 16 – 25 years old to write up to 800 words related to the shipping industry or the movement of “goods” by ship.
The competition is being managed by Jeanius Consulting supported by Lloyds List who will not only form part of the judging panel, but will also publish the winning article.
Jean Winfield, Managing Director of Jeanius Consulting says “I am delighted to be working alongside WISTA – UK and Lloyd’s List to promote the role of shipping. It is still very much an invisible industry and it’s great that WISTA-UK have chosen to highlight our industry’s pivotal role as part of their anniversary year. The essay competition will form part of promoting the industry and engage interest from young people and those that perhaps have no prior experience of shipping. We look forward to judging some interesting stories.”
The deadline to submit an entry is 30th May 2014. For further information on the competition visit http://www.camebyship.com/index.php/competitions/essay-competition
