20 December 2012 – GAC is helping to promote the fight against global hunger this Christmas by donating the space on Crystal Palace players’ shirts where its brand usually appears to the world’s largest humanitarian aid organisation, the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP). As a result, the WFP logo will be beamed around the world during the key match against Huddersfield Town on 22 December and will aim to promote awareness and support for WFP’s vital work.

The opportunity to place WFP’s logo on the Crystal Palace shirts arose through the organisation’s relationship with GAC which provides shipping and logistics services to move food and humanitarian supplies around the world.
In India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Thailand, China and Turkey recently, GAC’s dedicated Humanitarian Aid Team has provided a range of integrated shipping and logistics support to get aid to those most in need. In Iraq, GAC was the ship agent responsible for ensuring fast, smooth port procedures for the dry bulk grain ships discharging their cargoes there.

Donating our branding space on footballers’ shirts to the WFP is another way of underlining our corporate ethos of not only doing well as a business but – wherever we can – also doing good.”
