Due to serious flooding in Jakarta, permit applications may be affected due to the fact that the city’s authorities are unable to work.
Owners/operators with vessels bound for Indonesia are therefore urged to send their notices to PT Andhika GAC Indonesia well in advance of arrival.

DATE: January 17, 2013 COUNTRY: Hong Kong PORT: Hong Kong – Slurry Pipe Tray Protection Works
For approximately 6 months, slurry pipe protection works will be carried out [at Lung Kwu Tan] in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 23.088’N / 113 deg. 55.254’E
(B) 22 deg. 23.090’N / 113 deg. 55.240’E
(C) 22 deg. 23.272’N / 113 deg. 55.219’E
(D) 22 deg. 23.276’N / 113 deg. 55.235’E
The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter and one tug.
A working area of approximately 15 metres around the derrick lighter will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the derrick
lighter.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No work will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.

DATE: January 17, 2013 COUNTRY: Turkey PORT: Turkish Straits – Straits traffic disrupted by bad weather
Bad weather (gale warning, rain, heavy seas) disrupted traffic in the Turkish Straits this morning (17 January).
Pilotage in the Canakkale Straits was suspended for all vessels at 0445
hours local time, though it resumed for northbound vessels in the
Dardanelles at 1100 hours local time.
Pilotage in the Istanbul Strait was suspended for tankers with a LOA over
150 and 200 at 0500 hours local time.
